Sheffield England

When I started my writing journey, I decided to write about my grandparent’s city of Sheffield. I felt it would help me to understand what their life was like before they emigrated to Australia. Having started my research with Sheffield Historical Society, I not only found my long-lost cousin but made a new friend (Jacqueline Simmonite) who researched my family history for me. She found that two of my GG Grandfathers were Wesleyan / Methodist Ministers. My GG Grandfather Thomas forms the basis for the character of Ivy’s dad. Ivy is my heroine, a beautiful violinist who is the love interest of my dear Professor Mikkel.

So, because the book is set in WWI, I was pleased to find Kelham Island Museum dedicated to that era.
